The ZA5-L offers a clear 4-digit, 7-segment red LED display with a 50 mm digit height, providing excellent readability. It supports modern network-based management via LAN / WWW and can be powered through PoE (IEEE 802.3af) / PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) for flexible deployment.

In addition to displaying time in HH:MM format, ZA series clocks can be configured with advanced functions such as stopwatch operation, optional relay output and automatic brightness control. For larger viewing distances, digit height options are available in 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm (ZA version: 4 digits).

Time Synchronization & Clock Systems

Time in ZA/ZB series clocks can be set manually or via automatic time synchronization using two main options: GPS time synchronization and NTP (Network Time Protocol) time server client operation. This makes the ZA5-L suitable for synchronized clock systems in workplaces, schools, stations, platforms and other critical environments.

1) GPS Time Synchronization

GPS signals include highly accurate time and date information derived from atomic standards. For proper operation, the GPS receiver should be installed in a location with clear sky visibility. To use satellite time synchronization, equip the clock with the optional GPS Receiver.

Advantages: precise synchronization from satellites, no internet required, minimal configuration, global operation, and receiver LED indication for signal reception.

 

2) NTP Time Server Client

NTP (Network Time Protocol) supports precise, stable and safe synchronization with time servers over the network. A key advantage is synchronizing many devices simultaneously. Synchronization can be performed from a local time server (no internet required) or public time servers (internet required). The NTP synchronization is carried out via Ethernet, which is included as standard.

Benefits: reliable operation using multiple time servers (1 primary + 4 alternative), automatic failover between servers if a failure is detected and consistent time across multiple clocks in the system.

Every clock in the ZA/ZB series can operate as a central clock (MASTER) providing the time source to other clocks (SLAVE) over the LAN. This enables easy implementation of a synchronized clock system where the master clock can receive time from GPS, a public NTP server or its own internal clock.
