C-TEC C4414 Multisensor Fire Alarm Detector

Overview

The C-TEC C4414 is a high-quality multisensor fire alarm detector developed for conventional fire alarm systems that require dependable fire detection with improved immunity to false alarms. Manufactured by C-TEC in the UK and third-party certified to EN54-5 and EN54-7 by Intertek, this detector combines heat and smoke sensing technologies to deliver outstanding performance at a very competitive price.

Its multisensor design allows the detector to respond intelligently to a wide range of fire conditions. The combined operation of the heat and smoke sensing elements improves sensitivity to freely burning fires while helping minimise unwanted alarms. With wide voltage tolerance, 360° LED indication and automatic drift compensation, the C4414 is designed for long-term reliability in professional fire alarm installations.

Key Features

  • Multisensor detection: combines heat and smoke sensing in one detector for improved fire response and reduced false alarms.
  • Certified performance: third-party certified to EN54-5 and EN54-7 by Intertek and also tested to pr-EN54-29.
  • Wide operating voltage: supports 9 to 33V DC operation for compatibility with a wide range of conventional systems.
  • 360° LED visibility: two 8 mm x 2 mm ultra-bright red LED indicating strips provide clear alarm indication from all angles.
  • Automatic drift compensation: detector sensitivity is automatically calibrated to suit changing environmental conditions and contamination levels, supporting a service life of more than 8 years.
  • ActiV base compatibility: compatible with ActiV C4408D diode, C4408 non-diode and C4408R relay bases.

Product Highlights

The C4414 incorporates both optical smoke sensing and heat sensing technologies, enabling it to respond effectively to different fire developments. As well as operating independently, the two sensing elements combine to provide a sensitive response to freely burning fires. When a rise in temperature is detected, the detector automatically adjusts its smoke response level to support earlier detection with fewer false alarms.

Designed for dependable long-term use, the detector features low standby current, short-circuit-protected remote LED capability and a durable white polycarbonate housing. Its compact dimensions and practical installation characteristics make it an excellent choice for a broad range of conventional fire alarm projects.
